AMA Summit to Return in 2025

25th November, 2024

The AMA Industry Leadership Summit held in October was a success, and the AMA board has set its intentions for the 2025 event. “We set out to create an event that would attract the industry’s leaders to discuss issues, network, hear from expert guest speakers and advance the AMA’s work” said Executive Officer Alex Masso, “the Summit achieved those things and we definitely reached our target audience and attendance target.”

After considering feedback and discussing the event and its purpose, the board agreed to work towards a mid-October 2025 event in Melbourne, with the intention of alternating between Sydney and Melbourne. The event attracted a similar proportion of NSW-based and interstate delegates, and of retailers and wholesalers.

Since reviewing the AMA Awards and creating a new process and Awards Policy this year, the board has discussed the next steps for those awards. In order to encourage more nominations, particularly for the new ‘Emerging Leader’ category, the criteria for that award have been adjusted and nominations will be open for a longer period of time in 2025.

Intentions for 2025

  • Award nominations open in April
  • Award nominations close in August
  • AMA Industry Leadership Summit (including the AMA Awards & AGM) in mid-October

There was positive feedback on each session, in particular delegates appreciated the opportunity to get together and discuss industry issues, hear about industry trends and insights, and to learn more about competition and consumer law as it relates to our industry.

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with a Net Promoter Score of 88 and all survey respondents indicating they would like to attend the event again.
