Make Music Day @ Sydney Olympic Park

A great line up of artists catering for all music tastes –  including Mount Druitt Indigenous Choir, Ricky Nifo (recently starred in The Voice),  Cassidy Rae (country), Rebecca Hatch (R+B), Janna Beth (R+B with beats) and Bernie Van Tiel (songwriter/beat boxer).  There will also be a live cross on the Big Screen to the Sydney Opera House featuring the Sydney Symphony Orchestra performing Verdi’s Requiem.

Make Music Australia Day at Bondi Pavilion

Waverley Council will be celebrating Make Music Day by hosting community music groups in the Bondi Pavilion from 1.30pm on Thursday the 21st of June. Featuring performances from choirs and jazz bands to ukulele groups, the local community joins Waverley Council to celebrate the joy that music brings to everyday life. The concert is free and open to the public to attend.

The Sydney Symphony Orchestra leads Australia’s first international Make Music Day event with global livestream of Verdi’s Requiem concert

Live from the iconic Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra will mark Australia’s first flagship event in the international Make Music Day celebrations with a global broadcast of its performance of Verdi’s Requiem on 21 June.

Kicking off the celebrations held in over 800 cities in 120 countries, a livestream of the nation’s pre-eminent orchestra performing Verdi’s Requiem will be available free of charge at sydneysymphony.com and will be available for 24 hours from 6.30pm on Thursday, 21 June AEST.

The Sydney Symphony Orchestra invites music lovers worldwide to join them in celebrating music. Verdi’s Requiem will be led by international opera and concert conductor, Oleg Caetani, and feature Angel Blue (soprano), Catherine Carby (mezzo-soprano), Diego Torre (tenor) and Jérôme Varnier (bass) as soloists, and The Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.
