The Australian Music Association will present awards recognising substantial and valued contributions and achievements in the Australian music products industry.
2024 Awards
- Nominations open on 13th August and close on 13th September, 2024
- Awards will be presented at the Industry Leadership Summit on 15th October, 2024
The foundational principles of these awards are that:
- Awards are an honour, given for the efforts and achievements of an individual,
- Awards are not given for longevity, prominence, or for the achievements of a company,
- Awards are only given when there is a suitable recipient,
- Awards are given to people, not companies,
- Awards may be given posthumously,
- There is no age limit on any award,
- Current membership of the association is not a prerequisite for any award,
- The panel’s decision is final
The AMA will present three Awards categories, one being the Honour Roll, continuing as the association’s highest honour and an important of its history. The other two awards are for Significant Contribution to the industry, and Emerging Leader in the industry.
Nomination
- Any current member of the association may nominate a person for an AMA Award.
- The AMA Executive Committee will consider nominations and how to proceed with the judging process at a time of their choosing.
- Nominations must be in writing, presented to the panel for consideration in advance of its meeting.
- Go to Nomination Form
Judging
- The AMA Executive Committee is by default the judging panel for these awards. The Executive Committee may delegate its power to a panel.
- Panel members must declare any conflict of interest and they or the panel may decide to remove them from the process. Conflicts of interest may be real or perceived, and specifically include a family or close personal relationship with the nominee or being employed by the same company as the nominee. Typical business relationships are not considered to be a conflict of interest, where for example the nominee’s company buys from or sells to the company of a panel member.
- A nominator may be a panel member.
- The panel’s decision is final.
