The following data are from the ABS, converted to ‘tidy’ format for use by members. Essentially we have taken the raw import and export statistics, and converted them in the following way:
- One line per category (eg. grand pianos), per quarter
- HSITC codes converted to commonly used descriptions of categories
- Units & Value taken directly from the data
- Average Unit Value (for that period) added
- Saved as .csv format
This was one of the outcomes of consultation with members in 2023 as the AMA changed its Market Report. We know that some members take data and use it in their own database or analysis to identify trends in particular categories, this is intended to assist with that process.
