Musical Merchandisers Closing

Industry veteran Graeme Wilson from Musical Merchandisers has announced the company will closing its doors on 30th June 2025.

From humble beginnings selling Pianola Rolls door-to-door in the 1920’s to the opening of one of Sydney’s very first retail shops in Wilson’s Capitol Music Store in 1931, WIlson’s Record Bar in 1951 and Musical Merchandisers in 1960, the Wilson family has been instrumental in shaping the trajectory of music in Australia. The Wilson family is in 4th generation of supplying musical instruments in Australia. They currently import Jupiter, XO Brass, Majestic Percussion, Washburn, and other brands.

“As I look toward retirement at the age of 79, and in light of the ever-challenging landscape of our industry, I feel it is now time to conclude this chapter in our company’s history,” said Wilson in a statement to dealers, “Musical Merchandisers was established in 1960, we have had the privilege of working with hundreds of talented and passionate retailers and partners who have contributed immensely to our growth and success. As a company, we are extremely grateful for the business relationships, friendships, and countless shared successes we have experienced. These connections have been a cornerstone of our journey, and they will be greatly missed.”
