SoundBay (trading as Mannys Music and Store DJ) is Australia’s leading retailer of Musical Instruments, Pro Audio, DJ, and Lighting Equipment. We operate 8 brick and mortar locations with attached storerooms across Australia, as well as a strong online presence and ecommerce platform, supported by a national logistics operation. This part time role is a great opportunity for someone with retail sales experience, who’s confident with guitars, basses, amps, brass, orchestral and instrument accessories.
What we’re looking for:
- Someone with at least 3 years experience in retail sales (please include that work in your CV!)
- Musical instruments experience is essential.
- Our roster is needing some available on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and (soon to be!) Sundays.
- A team player who’s adaptable, friendly, and passionate about helping customers find the right gear.

Regular Duties Include:
- Provide extraordinary customer service that is friendly, positive, genuine, and knowledgeable, with a focus on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain high levels of communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Managing all aspects of sales from planning & preparation, handling enquiries, consultation & building rapport, demonstration and product & service pitch, negotiations, closing sale and after sales support.
- Active involvement in day-to-day store procedures
- Working to individual and team goals, targets, and deadlines (financial or otherwise)
- Participate and contribute to crew meetings, product training & professional development as required
Essential Skills and Experience Required:
- Retail experience, with highly developed skills in sales and customer service
- Experience with and knowledge musical instruments that we can expand on.
- Availability during the day from Friday to Monday.
