Welcome, Emma

10th July 2025

The Australian Music Association has been successful in receiving Core Contribution funding from Music Australia, the government agency supporting contemporary music. This puts the AMA alongside other leading music industry organisations such as the Australian Music Industry Network, Australasian Music Publishers Association Limited, Australian Festivals Association, Australian Live Music Business Council and a dozen others. The AMA’s core operations have been supported by membership fees for 48 years and this will continue, while projects have been supported by the NAMM Foundation (Make Music Day and other initiatives) and the industry (Guitar Show and other initiatives). Core Contribution funding increases the AMA’s capacity and takes some pressure off a very small team that delivers a broad range of activities and programs including advocacy and policy work, data and insights, member benefits, partnerships & industry affiliations, member benefits, industry and public events, and more.

This has enabled the AMA to bring Emma Bienvenu into the AMA team as a part time Projects & Communications Officer.  Emma has worked with the AMA on the Melbourne Guitar Show and has experience in marketing and operations management in the veterinary, health and hospitality industries. She will be involved in the AMA’s public programs, member engagement and other projects, working alongside AMA Executive Officer Alex Masso and Finance & Administration Officer Melissa Gijsbers.
