Riffs & Licks Music is an exciting, customer service orientated music retail business with locations in Brisbane & the Gold Coast.  We require experienced, enthusiastic & ambitious guitar salespeople for positions at our Newstead, Brisbane location.  We have a flexible work environment and can offer part-time or full-time roles for suitable candidates.

We are looking for –

• Guitar Sales Specialists

Your duties will include general guitar sales (both in-store and online), sales of other musical equipment, maintaining inventory, maintenance and minor repair of customer instruments, merchandising and general marketing (including social media and digital), dealing with suppliers, logistics/shipping of musical equipment and general upkeep of the store.  Some travel to our Gold Coast location may be required.

• Guitar Tech/Repair & Sales Specialist 

This will be a split role between in-store sales (your duties will include all of the above), along with a specialty in guitar servicing and minor repair.  You will have broad experience with guitar setup, basic fret work, wiring & electronics replacement and general guitar care across all types of guitars.  You will be familiar with setup of floating and locking bridge systems (Floyd Rose) and Evertune bridges.

You will be a gearhead with a genuine love and passion for guitar.  You’ll also have an intrinsic desire to help others get into the music gear they need.  You’re probably already well entrenched in the Brisbane music scene, playing in bands, working the venues, recording in studios; and this role will be an extension of your own personal musical interests.

Your industry specific skills will include –

• A broad knowledge of electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitars, amplifiers, effects pedals and associated accessories.  From new through to vintage equipment.
• Proficiency in guitar & bass performance
• Experience with guitar setup and maintenance
• Knowledge (and performance ability) of other musical instruments such as keyboard, recording equipment and live sound
• Retail sales experience is essential, preferably in other music stores

• Basic technology skills – email, spreadsheet, point of sale and e-commerce systems

Other skills/experience will be highly regarded, such as –

• Graphic design & digital marketing
• E-commerce / website development
• Data input / administration
