To be eligible for the musicians’ additional baggage allowance, your customer must:

• Be travelling with a musical instrument or touring equipment; and
• Be travelling on Qantas domestic flights operated by Qantas and QantasLink (within Australia); and
• Make the request three (3) or more business days prior to departure; and
• Must be a current member of one of the following eligible musical associations and able to provide membership details at check-in.

  Important!

  This is applicable to Domestic travel within Australia for Qantas flights with ‘QF’ flight number operated by Qantas and QantasLink flights.

  • The additional baggage allowance is subject to aircraft loads and cannot be guaranteed.
  • Heavy charges apply to customers with a maximum weight limit of 23kgs per piece who exceed that limit and are payable at the airport.
  • Maximum weight of each piece cannot exceed 32kgs.
  • Up to two (2) additional pieces of baggage can be pre-purchased on top of the musicians baggage allowance to meet the maximum of five  (5) pieces per customer.
  • Additional baggage allowance must be pre-purchased for all international flights booked in conjunction with domestic flights.
  • Baggage on flights to Lord Howe Island is subject to specific restrictions.
  • Your customer’s Frequent Flyer number is to be entered into the booking prior to making a request for musicians additional baggage allowance.
