Angus Marshall Appointed to AMA Board

Last month Mark Amory left the AMA board after a long period of service to the association. According to the AMA’s constitution, board members hold their positon as a representative of a member company and therefore vacate that position when they leave that employer.

Angus Marshall, recently appointed as Interim General Manager, Fender Music Australia, accepted a nomination to fill the casual vacancy and was elected by a vote of the board on Friday 5th April. Continue reading

Glenroy Music Centre Closes Its Doors

Glenroy Music Centre, a long established small business in suburban Melbourne, closed its doors today. “After servicing the community for 40 years in our current location, it may come as a shock that Glenroy Music Centre has closed its doors.” said the owners in a statement. “Whilst it has been a very difficult decision, it is essential that John frees up his time to be there for a family member who is needing us due to ill health. We look forward to your support as we move towards this next chapter of our lives.”

Opening in its current location back in 1984 by Bob and Barbara Petts as Oak Park Guitar School, before changing ownership and becoming Glenroy Music Centre in 2002, the store has been servicing the musical needs of the community for a huge 40 years.

John has been working in the music retail industry for 51 years, 22 years as the owner of Glenroy Music, and Lindy has been connected with Glenroy Music for the past 36 years.
