By now people dealing with button batteries should be aware of new regulations introduced last year, when Australia led the world in requiring consumer products with button batteries to have them secured to protect children.
Almost 18 months on, we are seeing regular recall notices for various products, and there have been two or three in that time for our industry. These include batteries for ukulele preamps and tuners. Here is today’s example of a recall notice, for a garage door remote.
If you are importing or selling anything with a button/coin battery, make sure it is compliant!
