VRAQ Accredits Musical Instrument Making Courses

The Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority has accredited the Certificate III in Musical Instrument Making and Maintenance and Certificate IV in Musical Instrument Making and Repair courses for a period of 5 years and they will be available for training as at January 1, 2016. The official notification can be viewed here Offical Notification of Course Approval.

This result is the culmination of over a year’s work by our industry steering committee of Patrick Evans (Maton Guitars), Miles Jackson (Cole Clark Guitars), Ben Stewart (Benedict Stewart Instruments), Rafaela Galati-Brown and Bon Nardella (NCAT) and chaired by the AMA’s Rob Walker.

Background can be viewed at this link.

A good result for an industry that lacks training opportunities for those wishing to be equipped to gain employment in our industry. The course will cater for those that wish to make guitars to repairers wishing to work in many different settings.
